Giraffe cam to capture calf's birth

Unfortunately, Animal Adventure Park's live stream was interrupted at around 8 a.m. yesterday.

April the giraffe is 15-years-old and is expecting a calf with her mate, Oliver.

As for April, she's reportedly "fine" and without pain.

Friday morning, the park posted on Facebook that April was looking great and "physical posturing and other activity observed would suggest we are close".

He is just 5 years old! Animal Adventure says this will be April's fourth calf, and Oliver's first. "So, that adds a little excitement to the process". But be warned, you may not get a thing done while the stream is going. "Gravity sort of helps because they're standing".

An upstate NY zoo's Livestream of a giraffe preparing to give birth was abruptly suspended Thursday after animal activists complained about "nudity and sexual content" in violation of YouTube's policy, the zoo said.

The watching and waiting will surely be worth it- to witness the drama and beauty of the animal kingdom.

The park began streaming the giraffe in her enclosed pen on Wednesday.

Giraffes are pregnant for 15 months. They grow to an average height of 16-18 feet!

The calf will weigh around 150 pounds and be approximately 6-feet-tall at birth.
