On the TLC Tip, the next year. "Our final album will stay true to the TLC sound, always confronting the real issues and life experiences that we all must face every single day, everywhere", they said.

The three-piece band sadly lost original member Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes when she died in an auto accident in 2002, and Chilli (Rozonda Thomas) and T-Boz (Tionne Watkins) have been performing as a duo ever since.

Watkins and Thomas' album successfully secured $430,255 from 4,201 backers on Kickstarter and the album was set to be delivered in September 2015.

It was nearly three years ago when TLC launched a Kickstarter to fund their fifth and final album. They've long passed their $100,000 goal, raising $430 million in total, and their manager finally gave us some new information about what's to come on February 27. But, now, it finally seems as though the album is coming to fruition and will be released in June. "We write music that people relate to... timeless music".

He then shares that, at the time of the Kickstarter's conception, there was no music yet created for them to build off of, and touring schedules, among other things, resulted in the delay.

Diggins said the surviving TLC singers "demanded of themselves a record that would stand up to the great body of work created in the past and that you would be proud of because your belief and support is the greatest form of love and we want you to be proud".

A specific release date or details about any of the songs on the record have not been confirmed just yet, but at least we have a good idea of what's to come!

T-Boz, Chilli, and Left Eye, who died at age 30 in 2002, formed TLC in 1991 and released their debut album, Ooooooohhh. T-Boz celebrated the record's 25th anniversary this week on Instagram.

To maintain creative control the duo is asking for help of their fans and are looking to work with known and new songwriters and producers to complete the full album.
