When oligarchs seek an imposing chariot more likely to induce the masses to step back rather than rush forward on their arrival, the G 650 Landaulet will surely be the new vehicle of choice.

The Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet is the vehicle you never knew you needed.

The Landaulet is the first off-roader from the Mercedes-Maybach sub-brand.

Before the Mercedes-Maybach G-Class 650 Landaulet was announced, the Bentley Bentayga was the world's most expensive SUV at $230,000.

New Dehli: Luxury vehicle maker Mercedes has showcased Maybach G650 Landaulet at the ongoing Geneva Motor show.

The super expensive SUV has everything to make off-road driving very fun and not only will it have a $500,000 price but it will also be a limited release. The Mercedes-Maybach G-Class 650 Landaulet will be available this year and will be released in left-hand drive only. It has a twin-turbocharged V12 powerplant producing 630 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque.

Standing at seven feet tall, the SUV from the German giants is a majestic beast on wheels. The SUV is very luxurious but also a very expensive one. The idea of a Landaulet is that the passengers occupy a separate compartment to the driver. An almost two-foot extension to this special G-Wagen's wheelbase provides enough rear legroom for installation of a pair of first-class aircraft style reclining seats separated by a console featuring cupholders that will either heat or chill drinks.

The G650 Landaulet is fitted with portal axles which provide a ground clearance of 450 millimeters. Reports suggest it will go on sale in the later half of 2017.
