Warner Brothers Wants Matthew Vaughn To Fix Superman

Even if he doesn't tackle Man of Steel 2, the studio is apparently keen to get Vaughn involved, and he could resurface on a different film down the line.

If Warner Brothers and the DCEU going with Matthew Vaughn to direct the sequel, he would be succeeding Zack Snyder, who not only directed the first Man of Steel but also Batman V Superman and the two Justice League movies.

A release date for Man of Steel 2 has not been announced and it's unclear as to how far the film is into the pre-production stage. Since then he has nearly exclusively worked in the fantasy/comic book genre but a Superman movie would easily be his most high-profile yet.

If DC really does take another shot at Superman, getting someone like Vaughn at the helm could at least bring some fresh energy to the character.

Collider is reporting that WB wants Kingsman and X-Men: First Class director Matthew Vaughn to take the director's chair for their Man Of Steel follow-up.

Although it may be some time before a director is confirmed for Man of Steel 2 if he is chosen fans may already have an idea of what kind of movie he would make just based on some of his recent comments regarding the genre. Would you like to see Vaughn tackle a Man of Steel sequel?

He said: "I think that's the one thing not to do with Superman, trying to do the serious "The Dark Knight" version. Superman is about color and fun, or it should be, for me", Vaughn told MTV back in 2010.
