Hashemi denounced the United States navy ship's move as "illegitimate", adding that the presence of American and British vessels in the Persian Gulf "endangers the security of this strategic region, which provides a huge portion of the world's energy". The second missile was sacked a day later and successfully hit a floating barge located 155 miles away. Iran was among the nine countries on the original travel ban list, which caused the country to stop letting in Americans.
