Lauren Maria Jenkins, 17, was reported missing after she was involved in a collision late Friday at the intersection of Leesville and Oneal roads.

"A 17-year-old girl who was in the front seat of Jenkins' vehicle sustained minor injuries and also left the scene", Gray said.

Her body was found in the woods two days after she was involved in a crash nearby.

It's unclear if alcohol was a factor in the crash.

SC Highway Patrol says that an arrest has been made in a hit and run case involving a moped in Greenville County Saturday night.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office at 919-856-6911.

Jones did not say whether investigators suspect foul play.

Adeline Surface, who lives near the crash site, said she recognized Jenkins' vehicle in photos posted over the weekend on social media site Nextdoor.

Officials say her body was found in a wooded area Sunday near the intersection where the crash happened, which was in north Raleigh.

He is now waiting for the medical examiner's autopsy to determine if Jenkins had any alcohol in her system at the time of the accident. It's just so insane. The neighbor found Jenkins' body near the two ponds.

Friends were anxious when they didn't hear from her after the wreck.

She was a senior at Leesville High School where school officials said grief counselors are available for teachers and students to talk about her death. "Lauren was honestly one of the most unbelievable people I have ever met".
