Warning for ice and snow across NI

Met Éireann has issued a snow & ice warning for Ireland.

Met Eireann is forecasting cold conditions overnight and into tomorrow with some snow accumulating even at lower levels.

"Ice is also likely to form on untreated surfaces, whilst lightning may be an additional hazard", forecasters added.

Motorists are advised to take caution as hard driving conditions may occur. Later on the day is set to feature sunny spells and showers, some wintry with temperatures dropping to -4 degrees on Tuesday night.

"Showers will continue through Tuesday, though lying snow is expected to melt below 300m or so".

Fresh norteasterly winds will be blustery on Wednesday but becoming light on Thursday and Friday.

However towards the end of the week it is expected there will be a mostly dry period with just a few light showers possible.
