Boy, 4, Dies In Accidental Dressing Room Hanging

The incident occurred Saturday afternoon at Again Thrift & More on N. Victory Drive, which is operated by the Minnesota Valley Action Council, according to police.

While a relative was using a dressing room, the 4-year-old crawled underneath another dressing room door and once inside, had his clothing get caught on a hook, police Cmdr.

They say Ryu Pena apparently got the hooded sweatshirt he was wearing caught on a hanger attached to a wall. Daniel Schisel. Emergency responders took the boy to a hospital, where he was declared dead.

Police say no foul play was involved.

A GoFundMe page has been set up by family members to cover funeral expenses. Schisel told the Star Tribune that the hanging was "a tragic accident".

Crews attempted to resuscitate the boy, identified as Ryu Pena, at the scene.

"God gained another Angel last night and the few short years he was here with us, he never failed to make our day", the family wrote.

Cuevas said Ryu became a big brother four months ago. The post said he constantly followed his "best friend", his older sister Glory, and was "happy and full of life".
