A candlelight vigil will be held at North Park Elementary School at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

An 8-year-old boy who was shot and killed along with his teacher in a San Bernardino special-education classroom had been born with a genetic condition and had survived heart surgery, a school official said Tuesday. 53-year-old Karen Smith was killed, and stray bullets also took the life of eight-year-old student Jonathan Martinez.

A 9-year-old boy who was injured by gunfire was at Loma Linda Medical Center was listed in serious condition Tuesday morning.

An overflow crowd gathered at sunset at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in San Bernardino to mourn and pray for the victims and survivors.

The suspected gunman in a murder-suicide at a San Bernardino elementary school reportedly had a brief and rocky relationship with his wife before he fatally shot her, one of her students and then himself on Monday (10 April), police said.

"She tried to hide it, but it's hard for her so we're just here for her trying to help her cope", Johnson's sister, Mercedes, said.

"She thought she had a wonderful husband, but she found out he was not wonderful at all", Sykes told the Los Angeles Times.

His handgun was not visible when he entered this school, and San Bernardino Police Chief Jarrod Burguan said that it's not uncommon for spouses of employees to visit the school campus.

And, yet again, there is of course the question of how and why Anderson - who had a "criminal history" - had a gun to begin with. Authorities say he was know to school staff and simply walked in, telling them he needed to drop something off to his wife.

Witnesses said they saw warplanes attack the town but Russian Federation says a rebel depot of chemical munitions was hit. Before the alleged chemical attack, the West was "on the verge of a grim consensus", which had now changed, said Johnson.

Investigators say Anderson and Smith had gotten married in January, but separated in March.

The young boy was not in school Monday but when Valles heard the shooting was in Smith's classroom, she said she nearly passed out.

In all, Anderson fired 10 shots from a Smith and Wesson.357 revolver, stopping to reload, police said.

Burguan added: "We were also told from the family that she didn't necessarily take those threats seriously". But outside the context of the shooting, nothing about the note would have been alarming, he said.

"The family wants for our nation in memory of Jonathan to be conscious and aware of what is Williams syndrome", school superintendent Dale Marsden said at a Tuesday press conference.

Mary Fields, a fellow teacher, said Smith loved kids. She was shocked, like 'What happened?' He was so kind to her while they were dating.

LifeStream blood bank in San Bernardino received emergency orders for units of O-positive and O-negative blood from local hospitals following the shooting. The school district plans on providing grief counseling for the children and administration.

In light of this horrific tragedy, Jonathan's family set up a GoFundMe account for funeral expenses.
