As well as previewing her new single, "The Cure", Lady Gaga performed a plethora of hits and wore several fantastic outfits.

The 31-year-old was drafted in to replace pregnant Beyonce as the headliner after she pulled out following her announcement she is expecting twins with husband Jay Z. But while she carried herself like a veteran in the biz, Gaga still managed to quip some more risque material ("Did you find someone you want to sleep with yet?", one of her first questions inquired).

Gaga's 20-song set included hits LoveGame, Just Dance, and Alejandro, and she referenced Beyonce early on. "People kept asking me, aren't you nervous about playing 11:30?", she explained, revealing that it actually had nothing to do with Beyonce at all.

Lady Gaga promised surprises during her headline Coachella set, and Mother Monster has delivered.

Whatever (or whoever) it's about, "The Cure" is definitely a step in a different direction for Lady Gaga, following closely behind last year's rock album, Joanne, for which she'll be touring later this year. Pausing for a moment to speak to the crowd Gaga said that she was excited about the next part of the show as she had been keeping a big secret to herself. No matter what you know, I'll, I'll fix you with my love. But when it's Lady Gaga filling that slot, there's plenty she could do to fill those giant shoes - and she most certainly did, new single and all.
