'No father has ever been more blessed, or prouder'. A spokesperson for the 92-year-old told CBS News on Thursday that there is no change to his condition and he will remain in the hospital at least until Friday.

"Big morale boost from a high level delegation", the elder Bush captioned a photo with George W.

Former President George H.W. Bush tweeted an update from a Houston hospital, where he has been recovering from pneumonia, showing a visit from his son and former president George W. Bush. McGrath said the former president "is in very good spirits and is being held for further observation while he regains his strength".

Bush, the nation's oldest living ex-president, served a single term in the Oval Office as America's 41st commander-in-chief from 1989 through 1993. Bush spokesman Jim McGrath said in a statement Tuesday, April 18, 2017, doctors determined he had a mild case of pneumonia which has been treated and resolved. "We appreciate the outpouring of love and support for our parents", Neil Bush said.

In January, President Bush was admitted to the ICU at Houston Methodist Hospital with an acute respiratory problem.

The elder Bush, a Republican like his sons, also served as vice president for eight years during Ronald Reagan's two terms as president.
