First Micro Machines World Series gameplay trailer released

It's been over ten years since the last Micro Machines title came to consoles, meaning this latest iteration has our nostalgic minds pretty damn excited.

While the series hasn't been great lately, despite a relatively solid mobile entry ruined by rampant micro-transactions, Codemasters aims to bring the franchise back to consoles through Micro Machines: World Series. Originally announced three months back, we now have our first in-game trailer which shows off the new battle mode, featuring the booming tones of British treasure Brian Blessed.

The Battle Modes in Micro Machines World Series pit up to 12 players into the same arena for frantic and frenetic competitive multiplayer gaming.

Micro Machines World Series will deliver all the classic overhead-view racing you remember, while adding some Rocket League-style battle modes.

Today marks the first time we've seen gameplay of the tile courtesy of the new trailer which showcases the battle mode in action, see the chaos for yourself below. Each vehicle will also have customizable skins, with players having the option to use emotes and victory poses to solidify their victories. Micro Machines World Series will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC on June 23.
