The 2008 open world game Saints Row 2 is free for 48 hours on GOG to celebrate the addition of Saints Row IV and Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell to the DRM-free store.

CD Projekt is on a mission to demonstrate that GOG is the best PC digital distribution platform on the planet.

If you already own any of the Saints Row games on Steam, you'll be able to get free copies of the DRM-free versions on GOG by linking your Steam ID to GOG through the GOG connect page. Just go to , link your Steam account and add eligible Saints Row games to your library.

Accompanying the Saints Row titles is also a decent Deep Silver games sale, with the Metro and Risen franchises also joining suit at up to 75% off.

Saints Row 2 will be free on GOG until this Sunday so gamers will need to act fast to grab it. Players will have the benefit of experiencing Saints Row 2 without the hindrance of DRM, though its multiplayer component is only available for local network (LAN).

Saint's Row is one of the most iconic series in the history of gaming, with the comical story line and emphasis on a light-sided game, the developers won the fans over. Saints Row 2 was the last "serious" entry in the Saints Row franchise before developer Volition fully embraced the insane, but even Saints Row 2 had the beginnings of the humor that permeates modern Saints Row games, including the upcoming spiritual successor Agents of Mayhem. You must save the Earth from alien overlord Zinyak using superpowers and odd weapons in the wildest open-world game ever.
