Industry Analyst: Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus Is Coming After All

The Xiaomi Mi 6 sports a 5.15-inch display carrying a 1080 x 1920 full HD resolution. Following this year's trend in smartphones, Xiaomi has adorned its latest flagship with a dual-camera setup that pairs a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens with a 12-megapixel telephoto lens for 2x lossless zoom.

On the storage front, this device comes in two variants; 64GB and 128GB along with 6GB RAM. The new flagship smartphone gets a slew design and hardware upgrades, including a stainless steel metal frame, waterproofing abilities, along with the newest Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Interestingly, Xiaomi has introduced Mi6 in a highly distinctive Blue and Gold colour variant where the rear glass panel that curves along all four edges. For music, it uses the USB Type-C port. Xiaomi Mi 6 is splash resistant and it also has nano-coating but officially it is not certified by water resistance.

At the center of action is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor that is paired with an Adreno 540 GPU and a RAM of 6GB.

Xiaomi is selling the 64 GB Mi 6 model for 2,499 yuan ($362). If this is too small for you, the Mi 6 is also available in a 128GB package. It's set to hit stores in China on April 28. It comes with Android 7.0 Nougat operating system out-of-the-box.

And with a price tag starting at around $360 (a bit higher than Xiaomi's usual flaghips but still very affordable), it looks like an attractive alternative for budget-conscious buyers drooling over the S8. Not only is the Mi6 a performance packed smartphone, it's also got an equally good design to boot.

For connectivity, the Xiaomi Mi 6 supports 2X2 MIMO Wi-Fi, and 4G+ networks with download speed of up to 600Mbps and up to 100Mbps upload speed. There's an under-glass fingerprint sensor on the front of the device, despite rumours that Apple has been struggling to bake Touch ID into the screen of the upcoming iPhone 8.

One downside to the Xiaomi Mi 6 is that it is NOT running the latest version of Android.

The Mi 6 is touted as the first 5.15-inch smartphone to sport a dual camera setup on the back. It is significant that these value directly apply toward China just, as Xiaomi did not declare the Xiaomi Mi 6's universal estimating, however Xiaomi confirmed that the smartphone will end up plainly accessible in a few districts outside of China at a later date. In addition, an improved Beautify mode that makes selfies look more natural, now works with the rear camera on Mi 6. The 128GB version of the device will be sold at RMB 2,899, and finally, the Ceramic version with 128GB storage can be yours for RMB 2,999.
