Andy Farquhar, of Woodside, lost his mother Elizabeth to bowel cancer aged just 49 in 2008.

He says this topic is especially close to his heart after his brother struggled silently with his mental health for more than 20 years after the death of their mother, Diana.

"I also know some of the families supported by Camp Simcha and I hear from them about the unconditional support and care they get". She didn't want to talk about the diagnosis, she was more interested in our holiday, as mums are.

"She died about 18 months later".

Kesgrave's Katrina Copping and Ipswich's Nick Williams will be running their first marathons, while Kate Long (4:59 PB), Adrian Paul Goode (3:19.04 PB) and Darren Cook (26 marathons) will also be in action.

Mr Canning, who is hoping to finish in under four hours, said training has been going well and he has embraced the Lancashire weather running in the freezing cold and under bright blue skies.

"For me it really embarrasses the sport", said Florence Kiplagat.

"I think I'll be a blubbering mess when I see them".

He added that the prince was a "real hero to a lot of people" and Kate agreed saying "absolutely". It was putting a strain on my friends and family, as well as putting everything that was important to me in jeopardy, so a friend suggested that I seek support from a professional. The advice I received from Paula Radcliffe and Iwan Thomas was invaluable and reinforced the fact that although hard, someone like me who had only taken up running a couple of years ago could accomplish a feat such as completing the London Marathon. It'll be a bit of a surreal experience because the other marathons I've done have been quite isolated.

"Cooperation means working with the pacemakers, and if we make sure that one person doesn' t go it alone, we will run well".
