Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday raised the issue of triple talaq and said "justice" should be done for women belonging to the Muslim community, reports said.

"But the BJP is yet to be at its peak".

Out of the total 147 Assembly seats, the BJD had won on 116 in the 2014 state elections, while BJP could bag just 10, coming at the third position behind Congress which had won on 16 seats, something that the party plans to dramatically change in the 2019 polls under Dharmendra Pradhan.

"These policies and decisions have established India's credibility on world forums as a fast growing and progressive nation".

Gadkari said the Prime Minister, in a reference to the EVM row, asked his party colleagues not to be distracted by "negativities" and noted that the NDA government had been targeted over issues like alleged attacks on churches which ultimately turned out to be "non-issues". "In many regions, there are Muslims who are backwards".

The Congress leader further said the Prime Minister had visited the State many times and each time the people of the State expected a lot from the Prime Minister but he had disappointed them every time.

Prasad also said that 2,470 workers have shown interest to work for the party for one year while 1,441 have agreed to work for the party for six months and 3.78 lakh workers have agreed to work for 15 days.

BJP National Executive members, party office-bearers and state unit chief will discuss the future strategy of the party at the meet, which began at 5 p.m.at Sant Kavi Bheem Bhoi Sabhagar at the Janata Maidan.

BJP top brass in the state have left for Odisha to participate in the two-day BJP national executive meeting being held in Bhubaneswar.

It was unfortunate that the BJP is being targeted at Dharmadom in Kannur, represented by chief minister Pinarayi Vjayan. Interestingly, the part of the road from where the prime minister's convoy will pass has been decorated with an 11-kilometre-long sari which depicts the various schemes launched by the government.

He said that the people of Odisha were deprived of basic amenities like drinking water, power and sanitation. BJP did not enjoy much support in North Eastern states previously but things are changing now.

Several cultural troupes also performed to welcome Modi, who waved to the people as his cavalcade passed through the roads. But, BJP formed governments in these two states.

He was speaking after Prime Minister Narendra Modi had inaugurated the meeting.

"In the same way, we have to go into mission mode to think how we can bring about socio-economic transformation in the society by 2022", he said.
