Samsung Galaxy S8 Smartphones launched in India, prices starts at 57900 INR

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI is out today with a pair of new reports, this time relating to Samsung and its Galaxy S8 and upcoming Galaxy Note 8. Though the USA variant comes with the Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 835 processor. In India too it is expected to be priced in the similar range.

Both the Galaxy S8 and the S8+ are exact replicas of each other on first look. The company started a Galaxy S8 pre-registration page on April 5th where interested people were allowed to sign up to receive notifications regarding the smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 ended up as a disaster for the company, but it seems the company is still confident to launch the successor of the phablet to cover up for the mess created a year ago. All Indian consumers who pre-order the device are set to receive a free wireless charger for their new high-end Android smartphone, Samsung announced.

The Samsung Galaxy S8+ features a large 6.2-inch "infinity" display with a resolution of 2960 x 1440 pixels. The models will be powered by Samsung's very own Exynos 8895 (2.35GHz Quad+1.9GHz Quad) processor.

When it comes to unlocking your Galaxy S8 with biometric security, there's no shortage of options. And along with that, we also got the new Gear 360 camera. Flipkart is the online partner for the Galaxy S8 and S8+ and it will also be available via select offline retail stores. Apart from this, the device packs 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 256GB via microSD card. Both the Galaxy S8 and S8+ house a 12-megapixel dual-pixel rear camera and 8MP selfie camera.

Connectivity options include a USB Type-C, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth v5.0, Global Positioning System and NFC.

The new phones come with Samsung's new digital assistant Bixby, which will compete with Apple's Siri, Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.
