OPP charge man with child pornography offences

Actions a year ago by the Buchanan County Sheriff's Department were revealed when the state filed charges last week against a local man for possession child pornography. Police say in March of 2016, members of the Special Victims Unit used a program to proactively search for individuals viewing, downloading, and sharing child pornography.

A Brockville-area man faces a series of charges in connection with an Ontario Provincial Police child pornography bust.

Officials turned several devices over to the Federal Bureau of Investigation for forensic analysis and discovered that Folly owned a laptop that had downloaded child pornography, according to police.

To make matters worse, Folly, is a Philadelphia Police officer.

After further investigation of the devices, it was determined that Officer Folly was the owner of the laptop computer and child pornography was recovered from that device.

Folly has since been suspended from the force for 30 days and police plan to dismiss him after those 30 days.
