Jamie Carragher: The difference between Man United star and Marcus Rashford

The discussion highlights just how impressive Rashford has been at club level and the 19-year-old is sure to have a key role in United ending the season successfully. While Mourinho would like to rest one of his most trusted players for the European semi-final, injuries to full-backs Ashley Young and Luke Shaw limits his options significantly.

The 27-year-old was previously on the fringes of the Manchester United squad but has recently managed to break into the first team. David De Gea is set to start in goal after watching from the bench on Thursday, while Anthony Martial, also a substitute in Spain, could take over from Rashford up front. Is he any less of a threat?

"Of course every big game boosts your confidence", said Wenger, who is still to make an announcement about his Arsenal future.

If United want to give up on fourth then that's up to them, but this could all be smoke and mirrors from Mourinho. I met him in the corridor for the press conferences, we shook hands again.

The sixth place Gunners need it more, but I have a feeling we'll see a hyper-pragmatic, perhaps even ugly approach to this one (a la the Manchester derby) and an aesthetically displeasing final result.

Arsenal go into the United clash still reeling from the 2-0 defeat against Tottenham, a result that Wenger admits leaves the club's chances of qualifying for the Champions League next season resting in the hands of his rivals.

It is no secret that there has always been a fierce rivalry between Wenger and Mourinho, which will add another interesting facet to this game.

"It's impossible. I can not do it in another way". So for me not a problem at all and I think he will be really pleased with me that I am going to change my team against Arsenal.

"So, we have to be human with the players and sensible and show common sense in relation to our situation in the Premier League".

Mourinho's interest in Aguero will not interfere with United's £85m pursuit of Atletico Madrid's Antoine Griezmann, and the Portuguese would ideally like both players at Old Trafford next season.

United have little wriggle room yet Mourinho intends to rest players in north London, saying they wasted their "last chance" to reach the top four by drawing 1-1 at home to struggling Swansea last weekend.
