This fall, Steve Carell and Emma Stone will face off as Riggs and King in Battle of the Sexes, a film directed by Valerie Faris and Jonathan Dayton, the married directorial team from Little Miss Sunshine. The 1973 tennis match between world No. 1 King and retired champ and serial hustler Riggs became one of the most-watched televised sporting events of all time.

The trailer highlights include how Riggs treated the promotion leading up to the match as joke, the infamous press conference and King's love affair with hair stylist Marilyn Barnett.

That's newly crowned Oscar victor Emma Stone as King and Steve Carell as Riggs, appearing in their second film together (after 2011's Crazy, Stupid, Love). The match would go on to spark the feminist movement and fight for gender equality. However, off the court, each one of them had a much more personal and complex battle brewing in their own lives. Starring Emma Stone and Steve Carell, you can check out the Battle of the Sexes trailer in the player below!

The huge cast features Andrea Riseborough, Sarah Silverman, Bill Pullman, Alan Cumming, Austin Stowell, Jessica Mcnamee, Natalie Morales, Fred Armisen, Martha MacIsaac, Mickey Sumner, Bridey Elliott, Eric Christian Olsen, Wallace Langham, Matt Malloy and Elisabeth Shue.

Fox Searchlight and Battle of the Sexes doesn't seem to believe it, and so far neither do we.
