On the design front, Xiaomi Mi Max 2 will sport an all-metal body with the fingerprint sensor on the back of the device, mimicking Xiaomi Mi Max. In India, the company recently opened its first Mi Home store in Bengaluru and launched the all-new Redmi 4 smartphones, which will go on sale on May 23. Xiaomi has now officially started teasing the Mi Max 2 launch on the said date via Weibo, a Chinese social media platform.

In terms of specifications, Xiaomi Mi Max 2 will continue to feature the massive 6.4-inch full HD resolution display we saw on the earlier phone. However, it seems that at the time of the presentation of Xiaomi Mi Max 2 we may discover the smartphone being displayed with an updated battery of 5,000 mAh, a difference of 150 mAh compared to last year's model.

Now the official Mi Max 2 page is enabled on the company website waiting to show all device specifications.

Details about the Mi Max 2 have yet to be announced, but if the phone is anything like its predecessor you should expect a large screen, a big display and budget pricing. The device will be powered by Snapdragon 626 processor and will most likely be available in just the 128GB internal variant.

Now, a separate rumor suggested that a 12-megapixel camera setup on the back will pack in a Sony's IMX378 sensor, and that the phone will cost between 1,499 Yuan ($217) and 1,699 Yuan ($246), once it arrives. It will be launched in China on 25 May. It will also run Android Nougat 7.1.1 with MIUI skin on top.

The Mi Max 2 will fill in as a commendable move up to the Mi Max, which we had assessed soon after its release in India.

As per a recent leak from China, Xiaomi may be working on a new phone called Xiaomi Mi X1.

There are speculations over the camera, an important feature for all latest launches.
