New Mexico unemployment rate remains at 6.7 percent

According to a press release from Ohio Department Job and Family Services, Ohio's unemployment rate was 5.0 percent in April 2017, down from 5.1 percent in March 2017.

The new numbers highlight the state's long and sputtering recovery since the last recession.

Westpac economist Andrew Hanlan said further solid gains in employment growth were expected in the months ahead, but noted: "Considerable labor market slack persists, which will continue to weigh on wage and consumer inflation".

EDD said the state has gained almost 2.5 million jobs since economic expansion began in February 2010.

Analysts predict that Draghi is likely to reaffirm his commitment to the Bank's accommodating stimulus package and record low interest rates, despite the recent uptick in Eurozone inflation.

Statewide DEW said South Carolina's jobless rate was 4.3 percent in April, a 0.1 percentage-point drop from March. The private sector has grown by 2.3 percent or 61,700 jobs, and the public sector has increased by 2.6 percent, adding 14,800 jobs.

Gov. Asa Hutchinson's office reports the state added 11,000 jobs in April, and the labor force participation increased from the previous month.

Across the country, employers added 211,000 jobs in March.

"Indiana's unemployment rate reaching its lowest point since 2001 is a testament to the strength of the Hoosier economy; however, it's also indicative of an ever-tightening labor market for Hoosier businesses", said Braun. Construction and mining and logging were unchanged.

"It is good for people to be employed but to have a job that might be two hours a week is not necessarily sufficient", he told reporters in Brisbane. Retrenchment in administrative and support services accounted for the entirety of the decline in that area, according to state labor officials.

Trade, transportation and utilities had the biggest loss with 800 positions gone.

Three industry sectors posted job declines over the year, down a total of 21,800 jobs. Other sectors losing jobs over the month were manufacturing; information; financial activities; other services; and government. April's rate represents 119,256 unemployed persons, compared to 128,610 in March and 126,490 in April 2016.

In related data, the EDD reported that there were 388,142 people receiving regular Unemployment Insurance benefits during the April survey week.
