On Tuesday, Trump himself decribed the talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov as "successful".

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Thursday he saw "no secrets" in USA media reports of apparent security threats by Islamic state that were divulged by President Donald Trump last week.

Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov adjust his glasses during a press conference after a meeting with his Cyprus counterpart Ioannis Kasoulides at the foreign ministry in capital Nicosia, Cyprus, on Thursday, May 18, 201. "It's true, I get the impression, that many US media are working in this vein".

NICOSIA, Cyprus (AP) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Thursday mocked USA news reports suggesting President Donald Trump inappropriately shared sensitive intelligence with him about terror threats involving laptops on airplanes.

He joked that some US media were acting like communist newspapers in the former Soviet Union and not offering real news.

The fake news from The Washington Post had some truth, Trump did share some information, not secrets, information that will save lives and prevent terrorist attacks.

Lavrov's comments on the issue were the first since his meeting with Trump and after allegations were made by two U.S. officials on May 15 that the U.S. President had divulged secrets to Lavrov about planned IS operations.

"Relations between European Union and Russian Federation are unsatisfying", Lavrov said.

Trump sent out the tweets after a Washington Post story accused him of revealing highly classified information to Russian officials during last week's Oval Office meeting. Now, Washington Post Intelligence and Terrorism Reporter Greg Miller sparks buzz with a story claiming that the president leaked sensitive information in that meeting.

However Russian President Vladimir Putin has dismissed the media frenzy surrounding Donald Trump's ties with the country as "schizophrenia" and offered to release details of the conversation between Trump and Sergei Lavrov to the US Congress.
