Trump honors fallen officers

On National Peace Officers Memorial Day, Monday, May 15, Justice will run a roll call featuring the names of all 143 fallen officers in 2016.

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) is the federal agency charged with conducting research to improve working conditions and prevent work-related injury and illness among USA workers and this mission extends to police officers.

A crowd gathered at 9 a.m.as officers filed into a second-floor room of the police department, stopping to face a memorial wall with four framed photos of officers who died in the line of duty. "We give thanks for who these men and women were, and we celebrate what they did and what they stood for", said Attorney General Jeff Sessions during the service Saturday evening.

In humble appreciation of our hard-working law enforcement officers, Melania and I will light the White House in blue on May 15. The service of those who have given their lives in the line of duty will be forever honored. Fraternal Order of Police head Chuck Canterbury offered some strident praise of Trump during his opening remarks, saying he "has let America know that our law enforcement officers are important and that our lives matter".

He added, "The attacks on our police must end, and they must end right now".

"We remember our fallen brothers and sisters".

The Olive Branch Police Department hosted the 2017 Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Monday morning.

The Upper Peninsula Peace Officer Memorial Ceremony will be held Thursday in the Sault Ste. "They signed up to make a difference to make things better, not to be killed or hated because both of these boys, Nick and Jody, they love people".

"We all owe them a huge debt of gratitude".
