"We must be resolute in condemning such acts in a single unified voice", Trump stressed.

Also this month, Trump explicitly confirmed one suspicion about his firing of then-FBI Director James B. Comey and strongly indicated that another suspicion was also true. "Thank you and God bless you".

"But we must seize them together". They can't do it.

"I know for a fact that the average Israeli is ready for this solution".

The President is urging the U.S. and Israel to boost cooperation against common threats, and declaring that Iran never be allowed to have a nuclear weapon.

After urging Arab and Muslim leaders to root out extremism among their peoples, Trump flew from Riyadh to Tel Aviv - in an unprecedented direct flight - "and nothing comes out of it", he said. I want you to know how much we appreciate your bold decision to act against the use of chemical weapons in Syria. "I truly do, but I'm not very optimistic", Rubio told CNN's "New Day". I will call them, from now on, losers, because that's what they are.

Naftali Bennett, leader of the rightist Jewish Home party, a key member of Netanyahu's governing coalition, summed up the prevailing mood among officials in the wake of Trump's visit. "That's not going to happen", Rubio said. Tremendous progress has been made. He has already visited Saudi Arabia and Israel. For the first time in many years, and for the first time in my lifetime, I see a real hope for change.

Trump continued: "America's security partnership with Israel is stronger than ever".

"Of course, not all of that I like to discuss before the cameras but I do look forward to our discussions, which I think are pregnant with possibility", Netanyahu responded.

Hamas says Trump speech on Jews' ties to Jerusalem 'racist, counterfeit history'
But with determination, compromise and the belief that peace is possible, Israelis and Palestinians can make a deal. As for follow-up, "The one thing that it probably will be is quiet and discreet", the official said.

But in his public remarks, Trump steered clear of any such language, and did not mention what has been the goal of USA diplomacy for two decades: a state of Israel and an independent Palestinian state co-existing side-by-side.

Trump's speech, welcomed by Israeli right-wingers, came after he met Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas in Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank earlier in the day.

The Palestinians are deeply divided, with Fatah in charge in the West Bank and in Gaza the Islamists of Hamas, who have been condemned by President Trump in the last few days as terrorists.

Abbas had sought to convince the unpredictable USA president to remain committed to an independent Palestinian state.

Trump spoke in the Middle East on his first foreign trip, saying he would not call those responsible "monsters, because they would like that term".

Clashes broke out near a checkpoint between Jerusalem and Ramallah involving several hundred stone-throwing youths and Israeli soldiers who responded with rubber bullets and tear gas, leaving at least one wounded.

This is the last day of the United States president's visit to the Middle East.

He has taken a softer position on the contentious issue of Israeli settlements, suggesting that their expansion rather than their presence might hamper the search for peace.

Trump's statement was largely interpreted in Israel as a sharp rebuke to the Palestinian Authority (PA) practice of paying salaries to jailed Palestinians and to the families of those who were killed while trying to carry out attacks against Israel.
