Pyre Ready to Launch This Summer on July 25th

Supergiant wants the game to "feel personal to you" and ensure that "no two players will experience" the same game.

It promises its "biggest and most imaginative world yet" witha variety of playable characters.

Now I'm interested to hear what you think about the game.

If that isn't enough to peak your interest, the story includes a wide cast of character assembled by the player in order to fight for their freedom in the land of Downside.

This transpires through a group sport in which three characters compete against a team of AIs with the goal being to transport an orb into your pyre on the opponent's turf. More exciting still, is the promise that the game will have a branching story and "no game-over". Win or lose, you will continue to make your way through the story, which means that your journey through Pyre will slightly differ from other players.

Along with the campaign there will be a two player, local Versus Mode where you can choose from 20 characters to partake in Rites.

From the vibrant hand-painted artwork to the evocative musical score (featuring more than 90 minutes of music by Darren Korb, our audio director and award-winning composer of Bastion and Transistor), every aspect of Pyre's presentation draws you into its fantasy world.

The studio has been working on the game for three years, and it is great to see a game studio unafraid to challenge themselves with an entirely new gameplay style for each game so far. In case you have forgotten, Supergiant are the creators of Transistor and Bastion which were really cool and unique games. We can not wait for you to try it and hear what you think.
