Apple Announces New Hardware & Updates At WWDC 2017

Apple revealed iOS 11 at their Worldwide Developer Conference yesterday, the new iPhone and iPad OS comes with a wide range of new features.

The iMac has been a gold standard for desktops for many years and Apple raised the bar once again.The new product has faster processors - the 7th generation Intel Core called "Kaby Lake".

Meanwhile, new fitness capabilities will live in the iOS Activity app. Features will include intelligent coaching, a personalized notification every morning if users are close to earning a fitness "achievement" in the app, and suggestions on what they can do to match recent activity levels.

We are expecting to see the new iPhone 8 handsets some time in September, these will come with iOS 11 so we can expect Apple to release the software update for existing devices at the same time.

Apple's virtual assistant Siri has been given a makeover with iOS 11. Another functionality added to the iMessage app is the addition of Apple Pay as an app to iMessage.

Buyers will be given 64GB of stage as standard - double that of the outgoing model. Apple claims that with iOS 11, Siri will be smarter than before.

There's no word on United Kingdom pricing, or when the Apple HomePod will be released, but ArsTechnica says the product could cost "somewhere between £330 and £370" - making it more than double the price of its Amazon Echo Rival.
