A day before embarking on her first trip to Israel as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley demanded that the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) address its bias against the Jewish state.

Nikki Haley warned that if the council doesn't address its shortcomings, the US might pull out, The Washington Post reports.

"We see some areas for significant strengthening", Nikki Haley, U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, told the Geneva forum, opening a three-week session. "Being a member of this council is a privilege, and no country who is a human right violator should be allowed a seat at the table".

In an interview that will air Sunday June 4 on CNN's State Of The Union, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations told host Jake Tapper that President Trump does in fact believe that climate is changing.

The Israeli-Palestinian conflict will also be raised on June 12 by the Special Rapporteur on Violence Against Women Dubravka Šimonović, who visited Israel and the Palestinian territories in September 2016.

Haley recently penned an antagonistic op-ed for the Washington Post, in which she questioned whether the Council "actually supports human rights or is merely a showcase for dictatorships that use their membership to whitewash brutality". United States concerns include the human rights record of members like China and Venezuela and what it deems anti-Israel bias. We seek to re-establish the council's legitimacy.

He also alluded to Haley's comments earlier Tuesday that the United States might withdraw from the council unless it carries out reforms sought by Washington.
