The best scorer of the playoffs was another hockey player "Pittsburgh" Evgeni Malkin 28 (10 goals, 18 assists). Kathryn Tappen and Paul Burmeister anchored pre-game coverage alongside analysts Jeremy Roenick, Anson Carter and Brian Boucher on-site outside of Bridgestone Arena. "So to be able to accomplish it is a great feeling", said Pittsburgh captain Sidney Crosby, who won the Conn Smythe Trophy as most valuable player of the playoffs.

Either way Pittsburgh has a lot to celebrate about and so does Nashville. Pre-game coverage also featured segments on Fisher and Penguins goalie Matt Murray.

In addition to Crosby's NHL accomplishments over the previous year, he also led Canada to a World Cup of Hockey gold medal and was named MVP in that tournament.

And the Penguins and Crosby, who will turn just 30 in August, aren't done yet. But if Pittsburgh could repeat this season with a banged-up roster and one of the hardest paths to the final series, the Penguins have earned the right to be considered favorites again next season, when the team could cement its status as one of the NHL's great dynasties. They reportedly have interest in the 32-year-old Fleury, though he may not necessarily be the player the Golden Knights choose to pillage from the Penguins. In February this year, she auctioned one of Murray's hockey sticks to support their local humane society. "But we always said, 'Nobody said that you can't.' And our guys were determined. It just [stinks] that we're on the losing side of it", Nashville defenseman P.K. Subban said.

Murray celebrated his win with his team and his loving, longtime girlfriend. "Right now it's tough to accept and tough to handle". With veteran goaltender Marc Andre-Fleury likely leaving this offseason, Murray will finally feel like it is his time to take over full-time in the Penguins net. "All of this time in-between, it was tough and it was frustrating to not bring another championship, you know?"

The Predators' magical run to the Final began with a domanant, four-game sweep of the top-seeded Chicago Blackhawks, a team that many believed Nashville would be lucky to win a single game against. The Game 7 against Washington.

The six-game 2017 Stanley Cup Final produced a total audience delivery (TAD) of 4.762 million average viewers, making it the most-watched Stanley Cup Final on record without an Original Six team, according to Fast National Ratings from The Nielsen Company and digital data from Adobe Analytics. Pittsburgh killed its final seven penalties during the last three games of the Stanley Cup.

TAD measures consumption across multiple platforms, combining the average minute audience (AMA) for television and digital.

Team New Zealand won two of three races Sunday and needs one more win to set up a rematch of the epic 2013 America's Cup match against Oracle Team USA.

If you're local team has ever won a championship, you know that the thrill of victory can lead people to do some unreasonable things. Instead of starting a new Stanley Cup, they made a decision to replace rings about every 13 years.

A repeat is already a rare feat, which makes it even crazier to think there's actually a solid possibility for the Penguins to add another title to their resume in 2018.
