The game will resume at 1:04 p.m. Monday, and if necessary, a deciding game would be played 55 minutes after the conclusion of Game 2.

Storms rolled through Gainesville just before 4:30 p.m., with lightning that halted play for what would eventually be a almost four-hour weather delay.

Florida Gators JJ Schwarz (22) prepares to catch the ball at first base with Wake Forest Demon Deacons Stuart Fairchild (4) sliding back safely during an NCAA college baseball Super Regional game against Wake Forest in Gainesville, Fla., Saturday, June 10, 2017.

The game spanned roughly 7½ hours after being delayed for almost four hours heading into the bottom of the fourth inning because of rain and lightning.

The Gators had already made the move to bring Austin Langworthy in from left field to pitch, and he gave up a single to Jonathan Pryor that looked like it was going to score a run. After the review, Costello ruled that Maronpot missed the plate and was called out.

The Gators, the third national seed, are trying to advance to Omaha for the third consecutive year and the sixth time in eight seasons. Breazeale and Johnny Aiello each hit a pair of homers, and Gavin Sheets, who led off the bottom of the 11th with a single, had hit a three-run shot in the first inning that was played on Sunday.

Florida loaded the bases in the bottom of the frame on a walk and two hit by pitches, putting the game-winning run 90 feet from glory with one out.

Those who purchased tickets for Sunday's game can still use them for Monday's games. Wake's Ben Brazeale led off the bottom of the ninth by lifting a Byrne pitch just over the fence and inside the pole in left field to tie the game, and dash what could have been one of the greater combined pitching performances in a nine-inning affair in Florida history. Prior to that, Byrne had allowed only 1 earned run over his previous 27 2/3 innings.

Junior right-hander Chris Farish, Johnstone's replacement, struck out Game 1 hero Ryan Larson for the Gators' first out of the inning.

Most hitters haven't been able to figure out the steady sophomore this season, but Breazeale certainly had his number.
