Megyn Kelly defends plan to air interview of Sandy Hook shootings denier

Host Megyn Kelly prepares for her Fox News Channel show "The Kelly File" in New York September 23, 2015.

The people behind the far-right, conspiracy theory website Infowars say they're convinced NBC host Megyn Kelly conspired with government manipulators to take down Infowars creator Alex Jones during her controversial interview with him. In the past Jones has suggested that the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut was, among other catastrophic moments in US history including 9/11, a staged event created by the government to further their clandestine agenda.

Marquez-Greene said Kelly's reasoning is misguided and would, instead, encourage Jones' army of followers to "double down" on their effort to label the massacre of 20 elementary schoolchildren a hoax. He denies this and slams Black Lives Matter and communism before confirming his belief that 9/11 was an "inside job" (and he calls this "a fact").

"Amid the social media outrage, Kelly noted on Twitter that President Donald Trump has praised Jones" radio show and also appeared on it.

Megyn Kelly's coming interview with web-video conspiracy theorist Alex Jones is causing the anchor another headache.

"Until you see the full program, in the full context, I wouldn't judge it too much", Liz Cole, the executive producer of "Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly", told CNNMoney. Kelly doesn't let him mop the floor with her (like she did with Vladimir Putin) while confronting him over his many damaging conspiracy theories. How rude of them to point out that Jones has spent an terrible lot of time going over how Sandy Hook could have been faked. If Kelly tanks at 9 am she will also bring down Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb at 10 am'.

Jones wasn't happy about the interview. In answering the question, Jones seems to offer differing views.

"When you say parents faked their children's deaths, people get upset", Kelly asks.

Mr Jones responded: "But they don't get angry about half-a-million dead Iraqis killed by sanctions". Thirty years ago, they began creating animal-human hybrids.

Marquez-Greene called for Kelly to include equal time for victims of the tragedies Jones has called a hoax. "I'm not ready for him to know that yet".

Alex: "Well Sandy Hook's complex because I have had debates where, we devil's advocates have said the whole story is true, and then I have had debates where I have said, that none of it is true".
