The Golden State Warriors are NBA champions once again, and this time it's thanks largely to the newest addition to their starting five, Kevin Durant, who was awarded the NBA Finals MVP award for his play in the series. He scored 39 last night and became the first player since Shaquille O'Neal in 2000 to score 30 or more points in five straight Finals games.

Despite his incredible performance, the Golden State Warriors simply had too many weapons. Coach Steve Kerr previously called President Trump's policies un-American, while Stephen Curry, Shaun Livingston and David West both have spoken out against Trump. "I just had to trust in it, we were really good tonight", Durant said in a post-game interview.

We've done this in our escalation of titles beyond all else in assessing what a career has been worth, unfairly adding the "yeah, but..." that diminishes so much individual achievement beyond one's reasonable control.

James' dunk gave the Cavaliers all of the momentum.

This was the third NBA Finals in a row pitting LeBron's Cleveland Cavaliers versus Steph Curry's Warriors.

Durant said the Rihanna dustup - Durant appeared to stare her down after he hit a late three-pointer in Game 1 - was a personal highlight during the Finals.

What's next for LeBron James?

Kevin Durant not only brought home an NBA Championship title for folks in Oakland, he also showed love to his D.C. area fans after Monday's game.

ESPN spoke with seven Las Vegas bookmakers about the topic, and five of the six bookmakers had the Warriors favored in a game between this year's Golden State team and Michael Jordan's 1995-96 Bulls team.
