For a side character who does nothing but degrade Peter Parker in the trailers, Michelle is still prominently on the Homecoming poster, beating out Ned Leeds and main love interest Liz Allan. This would have been a marvelous twist to the film, but the rumor was based on the novelization of the film with some saying she was addressed as Michelle Toomes. While Mic has not yet read the novelization to confirm, it does appear from the growing consensus online that Michelle's last name will remain a mystery - at least for the time being.

Of course, it's still entirely possible that Michelle is still related to the Vulture in the movie. Yeah, there'll be "Spider-Man" 2 and 3.

But I want to draw special attention to Spider-Man 2 because it's been 13 years since the game came out, and yet the Spider-Man games we've had since have been largely awful.

In fact, in every Spider-Man film released to date, Peter Parker has some form of relationship, whether it be as friends, allies or colleagues, with one of the main villains.

The game also benefits from Tobey Maguire's voice acting, which helps give Spider-Man a distinct personality.

Not only is Spider-Man sticking around in the MCU, but the Marvel / Sony deal signed him up for a trilogy!

For almost a decade, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has existed without one of its biggest heroes, Spider-Man.

To make a long story short, it would not be surprising at all to learn that Zendaya's Michelle is in fact Vulture's daughter.

The idea that Spider-Man: Homecoming will be the start of a trilogy of movies starring Marvel's teen take on the wall-crawler has been spoken about for a while now, but it hasn't been officially announced.

Next month, the world will know the joy of the sixth solo Spider-Man movie, and the seventh theatrical film to feature everyone's favorite webhead.
