Games released in E3 2017 for Microsoft Xbox, Xbox One X: E3 2017 has seen a lot of game releases and gadget reveals. And now it's responding.

Microsoft on Sunday unveiled Xbox One X - billing it as the most powerful video console ever made, and escalating a battle with market king PlayStation. The Redmond, Washington based tech titan is said to utilize super sampling on the Xbox One X console to make new titles look better even on 1080p TVs. The device, which had previously been known by its codename Project Scorpio, comes with faster components than its predecessors.

Microsoft's latest console will also feature a Ultra HD Blu-ray drive for 4K movies.

Indeed, if you compare the Xbox One X to a comparable gaming PC, its $500 price starts to look like a bargain.

Spencer was asked a question about where he sees the video game industry going in the future with regard to the competition now that there are new systems, PS4 Pro and Xbox One X.

The first game that will he released with the console is Forza Motorsport 7, which will run at 4K/60 FPS, and will feature over 700 cars. At $100 more than its competition, it's hard to imagine the price point is sharp enough to attract a wider audience and regain much ground back on Sony. The company did announce 42 new games to go with the console, however. The only problem is that while trailing in the consoles sales race to Sony, there are only so many exclusives (and timed exclusives) to get.

"The Xbox One X is targeted at a specific audience, which is at this stage early-adopting Xbox fans - console gamers that want the best device", said Piers Harding-Rolls, a gaming analyst at IHS Technology. "This is a true 4K console".

However, while the Xbox One X is capable of supporting virtual reality gaming, there was nearly no mention of this during the presentation and no demonstrations of games that use VR headsets. The Xbox 360 did have some limited backward compatability for the original Xbox but rarely added any titles to it after the console launched.

Phil Spencer has since confirmed that first and third-party games would be backwards compatible and that games would be available digitally and on disc.
